Bio – José Javier Negrón Colón is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) currently rendering financial and tax advisory services, business turnaround and restructuring practice areas.
José Javier was born in Puerto Rico, from 1987 through 1992 he was educated in the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. There he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with majors in Accounting and Finance (Cum-Laude). In 2001, he earned the Certified Public Accountant certification and in 2014 he earned the Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and the Chartered Global Management Accountant certifications.
Experience – Since 2001 to present he has worked in JN CPA & Advisors (Advanced CPA) leading a professional practice engaged in the financial statements audits, business interruption calculations, tax planning and, business advising in the restructuring area including out of court turnarounds.
Since early 2014 he has also engaged been in the bankruptcy financial planning, including support in various phases of the bankruptcy process. Jose Javier has vast background in the Business Valuation process, including a comprehensive courses in the different valuation methods and experience directly related to valuations.
Professional Affiliations – Mr. Negrón is member of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants (CCPA), the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring (AIRA), the AIRA – Puerto Rico Chapter, and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and, memeber of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
He is currently Vice President of the AIRA – Puerto Rico Chapter, Treasurer of the Puerto Rico Contemporary Art Museum (MAC).
Education – Mr. Negrón graduated as a cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras Campus, where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with majors in Accounting and Finance.
